My name is Tom Grant, I am 27 years old and live in Ullapool. I grew up here, moved away twice but the lure of the village and what it has to offer has made it now home!
Ullapool and the surrounding area have always offered great opportunities to explore and cycle (particularly in the winter for some reason) ticks my box! A popular route of mine is a local loop (anti-clockwise) to East Rhidorroch estate, via Braes of Ullapool and Leckmelm.
Although with a number of steep climbs from one Glen to the other, this is soon forgotten with spectacular views, especially of An Teallach as you ride up Strath Nimhe.
View towards Beinn Dearg and the Fannichs
The decent to E Rhiddoroch Lodge is awesome fun and offers a good challenge. After this, you are rewarded with a nice cruise through the estate, along Loch Achall, with views of Beinn Gobhlach as you take the final few miles in through the quarry and home.
